My original training is the person centred theory and approach, which I feel is a valuable foundation for growth. I then went on to study other theoretical approaches at degree level allowing me to embrace and apply the three main theoretical schools of therapy, humanistic, psycho analytical and behavioural, incorporating the theories of Gestalt, psychodynamic, transactional analysis, CBT, existential, phenomenological and transpersonal, therefore providing me with a broader knowledge base enabling me to apply it to my work. As a result I am able to work flexibly with what is comfortable for you; therefore my approach to counselling is integrative meaning that is it is varied to suit your needs, rather than the rules of theory.
Practice
My relationship with you is as unique as the individuals themselves; my aim is to help you explore your world and your perspective of who you are in your world and not how you can fit into my world and my approach. As no one person is ever the same, my approach needs to and does embrace the difference and needs of each individual on the basis of their own perceptions of their existence within their world.

Professional Development
I am embarking upon what I feel is the next natural step in my own professional development, which is to become a competent and humane clinical supervisor.
I feel passionate about supporting other therapists to develop their own potential and areas of specialist interest and I aim to provide a supportive, reflective and educational relationship therefore establishing the foundations for a meaningful and significant space to explore your counselling practice and the needs of your clients. Through this relationship we can develop a level of trust and safety that enables you to explore and understand yourself in relation to your clients and be the counsellor you aspire to be.
