Connecting Space

Themed Supervision Day

The aim of these themed days is to offer you space to explore the theme within the context of further training and personal creativity.

In order to teach we must first have examined our own perceptions. Head knowledge is valuable and there will be handouts, but first and foremost we want you to be prepared to work with the below conscious concepts regarding your own work / life situation.

It is our belief that working in this “Creative Space” we comprehend on a level more alive, intuitive and congruent than the behavioural / cognitive levels alone.

Please come prepared to be spontaneous and comfortable to be Who you are and with some ideas of your training requirements.

Looking forward to meeting with you.

  • Encouraging confidence in using creative methods in practice
  • Skills to deal with live material (case studies)
  • Handout supporting learning
  • Networking opportunities

Hearing the inner child’s voice

The inner child is a reflection of our emotional makeup. The inner child remains with us all our lives. We are all children at heart – forever searching and looking for meaning in this experience. Assertiveness

Assertiveness can be viewed as aiming to achieve balance in our lives. Being passive, aggressive or indirectly aggressive makes us out of balance with ourselves and other people. The advantages: better communication, reduction of stress through the ability to set clear limits and the honest expression of feelings.

People often think role-play is a form of theatre, but we are not acting: instead we are reliving a situation and trying out new ways of dealing with a problem within a safe environment. Receiving feedback through others observation helps us to learn the effect our behaviour has on others and how we deal with the situation more assertively.

Agenda: This is a practical, hands on session: opportunity to work with live material

  • Use of creative medium (drama) to explore the theme of the day
  • Behaviour types
  • Maintaining balance and be assertive when at a disadvantage
  • Rights
