What is a friend
What defines a true friend? How do we know ?
I think the following poem written by my late Colleague sums it up nicely.
I think a friend is someone,who has time to care.
Who is sincere and trusting,who helps you to share.
The pains of life ‘s burdens,when you’re feeling weighed down,
Then brings about laughter who can act like a clown.
Who shows understanding and has listening ears.
Who’s eyes fill with wonder,yet can mist and shed tears.
A friend is someone you’ll miss talking to,
Who brings comfort through pain,when life’s pleasures are few.
Who is knowingly silent,yet not slow to speak
Who for you,wants success in all that you seek.
For friends, united in spirit, are never apart,
In times of absence, joy lives in each heart .
